6 December is a red-letter day in the story of Corinthia. That is when it all started way back in 1962.
Then, in the 1970s, Corinthia started granting long service awards to its personnel every 6 December, and this appointment has remained a regular one to enjoy with pride and satisfaction. The venue, Corinthia Palace, further emphasises the historic date since this is Corinthia’s birthplace.
The hall, which was elegantly set up for the occasion, displayed the flags of the different countries where Corinthia operates. As the horizon widens, the flags increase in number.

All the guests could follow a few short videos, including one on the birth and development of Corinthia.

The ceremony, compered by Ian Busuttil Naudi, was organised by the Corinthia Social Committee, whose chairman, Alfred Fabri, explained to the guests the various initiatives organised by this committee throughout the year.
The Corinthia Chairman, Mr Alfred Pisani, expressed his great pleasure and satisfaction to see so many familiar faces receive the awards, which he considers a living testimony of the loyalty of Corinthians.
A pleasant surprise sparkled the end of the occasion. Without knowing, the audience participated in a lottery draw, with the lucky person winning a holiday at Corinthia Budapest on a bed and breakfast basis, including flights.
We felt it appropriate to include the names of the staff members who attended to collect their certificates of service and the award, which was purposely designed and made for this occasion by Mdina Glass.
